Bobby, you are welcome.  I am tired of hearing that however.  It is a platitude which is getting worn out.  We have veterans who are Homeless, Veterans who cannot get jobs, We have veterans who cannot get the medical help they so desperately need.  Thank us by providing those simple services

At the 11th Month, the 11th Day, the 11th hour the guns fell silent...........

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

Amen!

And now the children and grandchildren of Veterans that served in Vietnam are falling ill from their parents exposure to the Agent Orange! Conditions such as Spina Bifada are showing up passed on from the male Veterans. More diseases are passed from the mothers ( nurses ). The VA is slow to take responsibility for these conditions. Look what an undertaking PTSD has been. The VA was in denial for decades!

Rant over ( for now )

They never understood after WW1 and denied it existed.  It all comes down to money, they can pay for a war they will not pay for recovery

Arch, I considered joining the service long ago but due to my very personal views of this country and its historical treatment against Blacks (especially returning to worse conditions than when they left), I decided against it. However, I do support the troops. Today is a formality. The other 364 days.... I try to find housing and jobs for them..... the shit which were promised to them but undelivered by the same country they sacrificed their own being for participation in its armed service.

I can certainly relate to your feelings regarding race in the USA! It’s a disgrace that it took our country far to long to come around. More improvements still need to be made! For that I am ashamed!
